Major News Update - September 2026

We are working closely with the Snowdon Consulting Team in Auckland, New Zealand, to design our new rocket system, which works with propane gas and LOX as propellants. Both chemicals are readily available here in Australia and New Zealand via our fantastic sponsor, Air Liquide. Manufacturing and importing the previous propellants proved very expensive and difficult.

We are very excited to be working with the Snowdon crew, and have scheduled a visit to Auckland in early October to join them for an engine test and discuss the development milestones we need to achieve.

Jack Moshovis and Marinus at Aero Jacks / MX Aircraft have started building a new race nose out of the best carbon fibre on the market today. Chepco in Hong Kong has sponsored this product, and the layup schedule is complete after several redesigns, mainly because of concerns about massive heat buildup at the nose tip and clearing dust and debris at supersonic speeds.

Our long-time team member Mike Annear was asked to scan our car so the Snowdon Consulting rocket guys can assure us their tanks and hardware will fit within the confines of her chassis. Mike said he would like to do the job, but he needed the latest scanning equipment on the market.

A new Revopoint scanner was on his wish list. After a couple of emails, he had his new scanner. He was like a kid with a new toy and decided to drive across from his home on Russell Island, off Brisbane’s coast, to avoid risking damage to the scanner on an aircraft.

After a huge week of time-consuming work, Mike and Lindsay Clarke scanned our car inside and out. They also scanned all the components of Aussie Invader 5R and are now joining all the pieces together to complete it.

We need to modify our front suspension because of our new propellant tank design, and we are working with Kaller in Sweden to use one of their remarkable Hydrop H3 compact gas-hydraulic suspension units. These units are unique and used in heavy-vehicle applications; many are military. We can’t wait to fit this unit.

We have had brilliant support this month from our friends at Defence West and our newest Team Member, Ray Treasure. Ray has been on an extensive tour across WA searching for a suitable site for our record runs.
